Issue #9
It's time for some quirk! Yes, that's right, quirk! It's a Wes Anderson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge kind of week.
THE MOVIE: The Darjeeling Limited
Perhaps a controversial choice. I have yet to meet someone who has chosen this as their favourite Wes Anderson film but I absolutely love this film. Form the opening cameo to the three central cast members (Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody & Jason Schwartzman) to the energy of the location that Wes Anderson captures so well. It has it all.
THE TV SHOW: Fleabag
Adapted from the stage and bringing along all the stage techniques along with it (breaking the fourth wall etc), Fleabag is a brilliantly funny show. Excellently written, fantastic performances, clever story lines. Only two seasons so get stuck in.
THE SHORT FILM: Hotel Cavalier
A short film prequel to The Darjeeling Limited. I love that the film has this attached. And Natalie Portman! I mean come on. If The Darjeeling Limited is not your favourite Wes Anderson film at this point, then I have no more to give...
