This week's focus is all on music. A music film, a music documentary and a short film about music so like we said, it's all about the music.
THE MOVIE: Almost Famous
A quintessential music fan film. Iconic. So many reenactments of that roof scene. Written and directed by Cameron Crowe of Jerry Maguire fame. A lot of familiar faces too - Frances McDormand, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Philip Seymour Hoffman. So many memorable moments in this film. An absolute must for any music fans.
THE TV SHOW: Sonic Highways
A fantastic fly on the wall documentary following Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters posse as they travel around the USA recording one song in different iconic recording studios along the way for a new album. A history lesson on American music and the characters within. A brilliant docu-series.
THE SHORT FILM: JAY - Z Smile ft. Gloria Carter
Jay - Z pushing the boundaries of music visuals. A love letter to his mother. Beautifully shot, brilliant song, great little film.
